Why We Ask You To Confirm Your BVN
Your Bank Verification Number keeps you and other Bundlers safe.
When it comes to protecting your money, there’s no such thing as being too careful. 🔐 (That’s exactly how we feel about ours too.)
And because Bundle is a payment app, you’re almost always going to have some cash or cryptocurrency in your Bundle wallet.
To make sure you’re safe and in good company on Bundle, we designed a process to confirm the identity of anyone who signs up.
First, we ask for your (official) full name and date of birth.
Once you’ve added both details to your Bundle profile, you step up to KYC Level 1.
On this level, you can:
- Deposit or withdraw up to $50 in your local currency daily.
- Deposit an unlimited amount of cryptocurrency from another wallet.
- Withdraw up to $50 worth of cryptocurrency daily.
To step up to Level 2, the highest account level currently available on Bundle, we’ll need you to confirm your BVN (Bank Verification Number).
Your BVN isn’t just an 11-digit number that’s hard to remember (hint: dial *565*0#), it’s proof that you are who you say you are.
We ask you to confirm your BVN on Bundle to make sure no one is pretending to be you.
What does it mean to confirm your BVN?
- When you type in your BVN on Bundle, we match it to information that already exists on the national BVN database.
- Confirming your BVN on Bundle does not give us access to details of your bank account(s) and we cannot use your BVN to transfer money from your account(s).
Once we’ve matched your BVN to information on the database, we’ll send a text message (an SMS) to the phone number linked to your BVN.
This message contains a code that’s for your eyes only. Please, don’t share it.
Type in the code on Bundle and we’ll move you up to KYC Level 2.
On this level, you can:
- Deposit or withdraw up to 1 million naira daily.
- Deposit an unlimited amount of cryptocurrency from another wallet.
- Withdraw up to 1 million naira worth of cryptocurrency daily.
